| Comments | This doujinshi artbook was a quite a find; as soon as I saw it on JPQueen I immediately bought it. This is a very rare doujinshi artbook by Yun Kouga when she was still in her doujinshi group Club:Y. First off the book comes packaged in a card board box with the cover image printed on either side. Lifting the top flap up, you pull the book out from within. The book itself is spiral bound with hard covers. The covers are this irridescent paper with the image & title printed/embossed on in shiny blue. Flipping the book open you see two pages of shiny black irridescent paper & an introduction; before getting into the illustrations themselves. There are 94 pages in colour but only 47 of these contain images, with the page opposite containing text information on the artwork.
Presentation of the book is gorgeous and the colour illustrations are printed on high quality glossy paper; while everything else is printed on what looks like hand made paper? This is some of Yun Kouga’s earlier work, but one can truly see her coming out. There are some excellent pieces here. It’s all very nice but this book gets only a good rating because of the fact that so much space was wasted on the text info. on each image. |
