| Comments | Those with a sharp eye may have picked up the discrepancy in the print dates of this book and that of the 4th book. How can the 4th artbook be printed before the third? Your guess is as good as mine, but I’ve double checked the dates, and they are correct. One thing I did notice though, was that the third artbook felt more like a collection of art that had not been used, and just through together as filler to make another artbook. Probably 25 of the images in this book are illustrations, the rest looked like art that was either used in promotional material and not really “illustration” in type. This is a bit dissapointing considering the calibre of artwork in those 25 images (and volume 4) which is why this particular book only gets a ‘good’ rating. Images are predominantly of the main Sailor Senshi (some gorgeous ones of Pluto, Neptune, Saturn & Uranus.) Pink brat features again, but there is also a heavy emphasis on Sailor Moon herself. Print quality is on a lovely gloss paper, and many of the images are either full page or double spread, but unlike the other artbooks, there are many more pages with 2 to 3 images per page. Again some of the images are recognisable as being used on posters, and again, very few images of the villains but some lovely ones of Luna as a human. The cover scan below doesn’t show it well, but the lettering is printed in an embossed silver. Considering the cover price of this book, you get a good selection of images presented in a very nice format. It’s a shame that this book has been long out of print; these days you may end up paying quite a bit for the Japanese edition. Please note, there is a licensed Chinese version of this artbook but it is in softcover. There is also a “hardback” version floating around on eBay thats being sold rather cheaply. The quality of artwork is not good and these books are probably bootlegs.
