| Comments | One of the hardest Satoshi Urushihara books to find right now, and with good reason! Do not be fooled by the large manga content within this book, anyone who is familiar with Satoshi Urushihara’s cel like illustrations should be able to understand when I say that the manga itself can be considered illustrative in type; so detailed and beautiful (and naughty!) is it in composition! As the title suggests, this is a rather racy visual story in a world where there seems to a) be very few men b) all females run around wearing very little with their bosoms exposed (as in the cover image below.) The story revolves around a young red head who arrives in a new city to attend some sort of school (forgive me, I can’t read Japanese so cannot give you the exact details.) She is buddied up with a senior classman by the name of Kaede. The story follows the growing attachment between the two, as well as showing us that the red head has special powers; she is able to grow wings on her back! The story itself is rather disjointed as the last chapter (6) shows the redhead in a battle scene against some evil mechs who have captured some of her classmates; her special power allows her to use the force of electricity (?) to destroy them. Along the way you’re treated to some gorgeous images of girls in various poses, dress (really, I should say undress) and the two main characters in some touching/interesting poses! Fans of yuri (girl/girl love) will LOVE this book; it’s obvious that the two characters love each other, but there is nothing overtly crass or rude drawn… except for maybe at the end of the book where there are 6 full page illustrations of the two making love ^_^; For those who are familiar with the Gakken Mook representations of Satoshi Urushihara’s other artbooks (Venus, Cell Works etc.) you’ll find that Ragnarock City is presented in the same way. Thick wrap around cover with all images printed on a beautiful gloss paper that compliments Urushihara’s art style. The poster is large and very beautiful, but not one you’d want to put up on a wall for others to see ^_^; A thing to note about the poster; sometimes this book will crop up on eBay – it is very important that you determine whether it comes with the poster or not. There is a bootleg version that comes without the poster |
