| Comments | Gyeh… I suppose I could summarise this review with a simple “BUY IT NOW!!!” but I guess you want to know why First off, I’m not a huge fan of the series, infact, I can’t be really since I haven’t seen much of it, yet. So I am not in the least bit biased towards it as so many people seem to be right now (it’s a fad thing I think.)
The artbook is my ideal of an artbook. What an artbook should be. Not only is it presented in a lovely format, on gloss paper and in thick strong binding… all the images are placed properly to give each full effect, the artwork (while not overly stunning compared to many others) is solid and a great selection of all the characters from the series – Edward Elric features pre-dominantly, with his robotic brother Alphonse, the jubly Winry and the spade faced, but somehow yummy Roy too.
The only thing that could be found fault with, is the overly large number of pages used for ‘title pages’ but I can forgive even that considering it makes sense to have them there, and they are styley in themselves.
N.B. the cover image of Edward’s robotic arm, is embossed in a sort of enamelled fashion, hard to explain, but overall a very striking effect, adding texture and a new dimension, and another whee thing that makes me like this book so much |
