Comments When I came across this poster book on JPQueen, I decided then and there that if JPQueen ever decided to have a special “search for customer” option, I’d give them a direct feed into my bank account. They constantly surprise me with some of the rarities they stock, you just have to look… and the condition of the book? Excellent.

This poster book is a collection of posters, slightly larger than A4 featuring art by various artists who have contributed (character designs etc.) to games done by the Japanese arcade and console game developer, Psikyo (pronounced and spelled “Saikyou” in Japanese.) A break down of artists, and number of images contributed to this book are as follows:

Gomoku Akatsuki – 5 images (art for Gunbarich.)

Ugetsu Hakua – 3 images (art for Hot Gimmick and Gunbird.)

Masato Natsumoto – 4 images (art for Gunbird and Sengoku Blade.)

Katsuya Terada – 3 images (not seen elsewhere, please advise if you have!)

Jun Tsukasa – 6 images (art from Hot Gimmick and Sengoku Blade; featured in the image below)

Mine Yoshizaki – 3 images (one of which is the same as the cover for the book; art for Hot Gimmick.)

Kouji Ogata – 6 images (art for Dragon Blaze, better known for his character design work on Boogiepop Phantom.)

Hirofumi Nakamura – 9 images (art for Gunbird, 4 of which can be found in Nakamura’s illustration artbook ‘Himekurige.’)

Range Murata – 1 image (an illustration from Shao-Hong, featuring the rather infamous mascot dog for Hot Gimmick; featured in the image below.)

Posters are made from a thick heavy card stock, perfect for framing or hanging as is on the wall, if, that is, you’re willing to pull the poster book apart to begin with! Each poster is single sided (just thought I’d add that, incase it wasn’t obvious.)

All in all a most excellent poster book collection, and a must have for any of these artists or the games themselves.
