This book spans the years 1995 to 2001, show casing cover art done by the artist for the Enterbrain magazine E-Login. Each page features a full page illustration in full colour, and depicts pretty girls and women in various poses and dress – idol singers, cooks, waitresses, warriors, nurses, teachers, girls in bikinis and many more. No fan service in this book, but the images are stunning nonetheless and are definietly designed to appeal to a male audience. You’ll also noticed that from 1998 onwards, many of the images will contain the motif of a cat somewhere in the image, presumably the magazine’s mascot? The art is done ‘cel’ style, and is well suited to the glossy pages that it is printed on in this artbook; there are 9 pages near the back of the book that contain water-colour/pencil art, which while not suited to the glossy paper, still look gorgeous. The single ‘How To’ page is a series of images with text on how to create, edit and colour an image… something that seems obviously easy to the artist, but not so self-explanatory to those of us who are artistically challenged! XD
This is a slim book, but for it’s price I think it’s worth it. The images are dynamic and lovely to look at, and for those of you who like the artist’s work (as seen also in anime such as You’re Under Arrest, Jewel BEM Hunter Lime and Haunted Junction) you’ll definitely like this book. |
