Comments I don’t think I ever thought I’d see the day, when the sight of buxom teenagers in artbooks sending me off into paroxysms of joy, would ever occur. But there you are. In the past year we’ve been seeing book after book of waif/child-like characters, and to be honest with you, thats just not to my taste. When this artbook came along, I was fascinated by the sheer depth of colour on the cover, so gave the book a go, knowing nothing of it’s contents.

The story of Girls Bravo, as I have since learned, is of a teenage boy called Yukinari, who is so allergic to females (due to their mis-treatment of him) that he gets hives every time he gets near one. While being hurt by a female friend, Yukinari gets transported to the city of Seiren on a mystic world invisibly orbiting the Earth. This world is populated by a vast number of females, with very few males; but fortunately for Yukinari, he meets up with Miharu who he is not allergic too!

This book contains artwork done by the artist Mario Kaneda. It strongly appeals to me not only because the female characters actually look like girls (lots of bouncy bouncy!) but the few images of males in this book will make any bishounen fan squeal in delight. The artwork, as a whole, could be described as bishoujo. He has an interesting way of colouring his work too, useing extremely vibrant and jewel like colours; which is stunning when combined with the imagery.
All the major characters in this book are displayed, with fans of Miharu, Kirie and Koyomi especially treated to page after page of illustrations of these gorgeous beauties.

The book is definitely fan service for the boys, and while not out right skin, the characters are very sensual in appearance and pose in certain images; lots of leg, bounce.
This is the first time I’ve been introduced to this artist, but I know I’ll be looking out for more of his work in the future!
