Bitch’s Life Illustration File

Presented by Yasushu Nirasawa, it collects together illustrations done by many of today’s prominent Japanese artists; including the likes of Range Murata, Sho-u Tajima, Jun Tsukasa, Hajime Satou, Katsuya Terada, Masakazu Katsura, and Hajime Soriyama.

The art is violent and sexual, often involving a macabre combination of the two. Images of women being suspended in strange metal gear, or being dismembered. Strange body piercings, strong warrior women… think of a perversion, and you might find it in this book.

What you will not find in this book is anything depicting children. All the females in this book are women and while some look like they are being tortured, it is not gratuitous. There are naked people in this book. There is even a photo shoot with Japanese women who look to obviously enjoy the fact that they can be so obviously sexual, this section is called ‘Medial and Whore.’

Note: do not let the large amount of manga content in this book scare you away; much of is silent manga and very illustrative in type; while telling a story, each image is so well executed, it may as well be considered an illustration in itself.

Things to note:

• The poster is an Akira Toriyama illustration of female pirates (quite naked) doing various things aboard a ship… from copulating with a man, going to the toilet, feeding a man to a crocodile, to smoking a pipe and shooting pistols in the air. Quite amusing actually.
• The content by Masakazu Katsura is a short manga called ((a virgin)) and this can also be found in his more recent book ‘-M- a virgin -’
• There are 5 images by Jun Tsukasa in this book
• There are 4 images by Katsuya Terada in this book
• There are 3 images by Range Murata in this book, all of which are a) not in the least bit sexual or violent (don’t know why they are in this book infact) and b) can be found in Range Murata’s artbook ‘Futurhythm.’

I’ve known about this artbook for some time now, but had difficulty sourcing it; so when a friend in Japan sent it to me, I was quite pleased. More so after exploring it’s contents. This book is different, and if you’re looking for something that will challenge your sensibilities and make you seriously think about the more violent side of a female’s nature, get this book. The women in this book are not in the least bit ashamed of who they are, and that along with everything else deserves this book an excellent rating.
