| Comments | Initially when this book was released, I was hesitant to get it. Biased, I wanted to see a book specifically around Oh! Great’s work, not the animation work; but after having seen a friend’s copy, I had to have my own. ^_^; Despite the fact that this is a book about the animation, you will find a large number of gorgeous colour illustrations from the show in this book in either single, or double spreads. Illustrations are cel like, although still quite stunning. Used on the Japanese dvd covers, posters, promotional material etc. featuring all the main characters, with extra emphasis placed on Maya and Aya (hooray!) These two lovely sisters are displayed in all their beautifully bouncy glory, no pun intended 
The illustrations and the story digest/character info pages are mixed up, e.g. you’ll get 6 pages of illustrations, then 2 pages of story digest, then another 4 pages of illustrations and so forth. This isn’t at all jarring or annoying, and I personally believe it lends towards a more dynamic and flowing discovery of this book & it’s contents. A word of warning, there is a lot of fan service in this book, enough to make me say this book probably shouldn’t be viewed by children (or anyone under the age of 16 for that matter.) Other than that, this is a must have for anyone who is a fan of the artist or the series. |
