Sweet Dreams Yamashita Shunya Works

The artist draws with a style that is almost a blend of Jun Tsukasa, Range Murata and Katsuya Terada; but uniquely his own. Luciously curvaceous women, and just a few men who are plenty eye candy! His characters are drawn with a unique combination of fantasy and sci-fi, organics melded with machinery in beautiful synergy, with an excellent use of colour. There is nudity in this book btw, lots of it. Not crass or rude, but tasteful. You get to enjoy these womens’ curves; there is a good reason the obi strip says “cute & funny & erotic,” because it is! ^_^

Sweet Dreams is the first book solely dedicated to this artist’s work, and as such it contains the artist’s NPC character designs for Square ENIX’s Final Fantasy X, event illustrations for the game Phantom Kingdom, and character design for the online game Depth Fantasia. Page after page of illustrations, there is very little wasted space in this book, and hardly any text at all. The print quality is inbetween matte and gloss, and the paper quality thick. This is a great collection of artwork, at a reasonable price.

I really like this book, and will happily purchase any other artbooks that contain his work; and if you enjoy erotic, cheeky, Heavy Metal/Frank Frazetta type artwork, I think you’ll like this book too
