Book Worm Strikes!

I am in love with this man’s photography. If the Matrix existed, I would plug into him and try to capture even a tiny amount of his knowledge, skill and genius.
Received 3 photography books from Book Depository yesterday. Free worldwide shipping btw, and excellent prices. Highly recommend this online store if you’re as sick of Amazon as I am.
Got these books:
- Understanding Shutter Speed by Bryan Peterson
- The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby
- The Digital Photography Book 2 by Scott Kelby
Waiting on Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson to arrive, but yes, today I intend to spend reading.
Tomorrow, hopefully, I’ll have my new camera in my hands.
Last but not least, I cannot understand people like this. How can anyone sane and remotely in touch with reality think that this sort of behaviour is acceptable, normal, right? Perhaps I’m being overly critical. I’ve never thought the idea of drinking myself to stupidity was cool, so perhaps I can’t put myself in the same “wave length” as people like this.
Seriously though? Her poor kids. Unless they can break out of the cycle, when they grow up it’ll be another case of “rinse and repeat.”

I didn’t look at all of them, but wow those are gorgeous photos. Good luck with your own. My mum is into this stuff as well and she has taken some amazing photos.
Nothings going to stop that stupid woman except death. It sounds to me she just doesn’t give a shit about life. Those poor poor children.

The NZ photography group where I discovered that guy is filled with photos by some amazing home grown talent. Amazing knowledge base there too, which has helped me in terms of choosing my camera. I am sure they will be equally as helpful in terms of me LEARNING to take photos!
Does your mum have her photos online somewhere?
What I don’t understand is what makes a person give up to the point where they just don’t care about life like that. Even in my darkest moments, I refuse to give up.
No she doesn’t. She’s not very internet savvy, hardly ever uses it. Plus she’s far to busy to upload etc. But it does similar stuff to that site, alot of landscapes, sunsets, scenery etc.
Yeah I don’t no either.

Woman, get yourself a Gravatar! That way you can have your own nifty image thing like me when ever you post on a blog that supports OpenID (Blogger, BlogSpot, TypePad, WordPress etc.) Just use the same email address you used to sign up for the Gravatar, and the icon will show up each time you comment

The site allows you to pick any image and then crop the area you want to use, as you already now

You have no idea how long it took me to find a pic. Every one I wanted to use like avie size came up all pixely arrrggg. That was sooooo frustrating. I uploaded and deleted quite a few times, because they all looked really stupid so teeny tiny. You stopped me stitching last night:P
No I’m not a hot chick:P Still not entirely happy with the pic. But will have to do.

While having a play today I despaired of ever being able to take photos like what I saw in your album since I was struggling to HOLD the camera, glass etc. (and don’t get me started on how long it took to remove the lens hood!)

LOL ! I remember those days ! you feel such an idiot, but then it just happens and all of a sudden you are taking stunning shots… I reckon it is all on how you feel on the day – some days you can ‘see’ and others, completely blind
The last Flickr shoot I went to I took about 3 photos and went home in a huff…
Godly !!! maybe I could start my own religion, hmm wonder if there is money in this religion thing
I wish you all the best with learning, dont take those books to seriously, I never learnt the rules so I do not car about breaking them. And come along to the shoot next Saturday, it is cool just to meet people and talk crap.

Shhhhh don’t tell anyone – but I know faff all about f-stops – Ok I know what they are, but i cannot work them out in my head ! There are a bunch of techno guys in the group, as you probably guessed, me I am more about the images !
