What do the Death Note “Death Box” and the Ghost In The Shell Man-Machine Interface: Solid Box have in common?
They’re both so frikkin HUGE and a bloody pain in the neck to store!
*flails in frustration*
I’ve been thinking about re-organising my anime & manga collection to allow more space for all my other books & comics, that have spent the last five years languishing away in storage boxes. I’ve sold off quite a bit of my anime & manga collection in the last two years… well, some… ^_^;
It has proven to be quite difficult to part with a lot of this stuff…
I took these photos for my upcoming collection gallery; as a reminder of what it looked like before I took my mad-version-of-organising skills to it; apologies for the mess!…
p.s. sorry for the bad lighting, the weather was having a field day today… also, notice the extreme lack of figures?
Those ended up being the easiest to sell since I’ve never really been dead keen on figures.

Much of what is here I would never sell, limited edition doujinshis, artbooks, special boxed sets etc. no way. Some I wouldn’t even know how to sell e.g. the CLAMP No Kiseki set. I have all the Japanese boxes, plus the magazine holder, chessboard, chess piece holder, special pieces and all the extras that came with the lot. How does one even begin to sell something like that off!?!
In the second photo, notice the shelf closest to the right? Top shelf is my Masamune Shirow shrine, and all the shelves underneath are packed with artbooks. So many artbooks they’ve crept onto the bookshelf next door… ~_~
So there you have it… the mess I must re-organise… wish me luck!?
p.s. Speaking of artbooks, I will soon be re-hauling my collection of artbooks and reviews; with new and more detailed photos! If there is a specific artbook I haven’t reviewed (and own), and you’d like to know more about, drop me a line and I’ll put it at the top of the “to review” list.

I’ll still never understand how you, or anyone else, can resist the urge to take your toys out of the packaging.
@Phil
Simple… dust… and space constraints. What you see on those photos is the space in which I have to display my colllection! You’ll notice that some of my figures are out of their packaging
But yeah, at my height, I HAD to keep a lot of my figures boxed because I didn’t have the space for them, and for some, like my Trinity Blood Abel figure (not displayed in photos), the dust issue would have been a nightmare!
*thuds* Woaah!
I see your Harry Potter books too
@Kirsty
*lol* what ELSE do you spy with those eagle eyes wench!?!
I spy a Range Murata Calendar folder =)
Also, I know of a few doujin that would be hard to sell
Oh my goodness…I believe I just had an anime/manga orgasm
@Marc
Aha! Snuggle for the observant man! It is indeed but my Range Murata collection is nothing compared to yours oh great one!
And don’t worry, your doujins are safe with me… for ever… MWA HA HA HA HA!
@Cytrix
I WANT PHOTOZ @_@
@Phil
Heh heh, I used to think like that too. That was back in the days when I had relatively little. I quickly changed camps though when I started running out of space. So many figures + dust = too much work.
I too shall try my luck at spotting things:
Harry Potter series
CLAMP no Kiseki
Akira manga
TACHIKOMA FIGURE!!! (sorry, I love those guys. “Reset the world!”)
Hrm… Fruits Basket
A row of black manga that must be X, situated next to multicoloured series which must be Tokyo Babylon
There’s a row of white volumes which is annoying me because I’m sure I know them
Aha… and there’s what looks like Azumanga Daioh
Which means the same height multicoloured lot nearby must be Oh My Goddess
And I was about to give up when I spotted the purple section that can only be Petshop of Horrors
…
I am SUCH a lame geek.
So what happened to your 18 SHELVES OF SAPPY MILLS & BOON ROMANCE NOVELS??? XD;;; Oh, I still have aches and pains from when Nadea and I were your unwilling slave-type people. ;-;
Cool room. Love the figures. All of my Buffy/Angel figres are all in my loft tucked away at the mo
With the rest of my toy collection! I confess the Harry Potter Books grabbed my attention 1st lol as I’m a huge fan. Gotta know what was/is in the Death Box sounds really cool! I like that in my house just as the box lol. Take care hun. xx
@Jaelle (Jessica)
I bow down to your geekness oh great one!!! @__@
And that row of white would be Sorceror Hunters!
@Edwyn Tiong
Ah shush you, I stopped reading M&Bs in my high school years, what YOU had to go through was the hard core pr0n! And hey, only you were suffering, Nadea and I were too busy LAUGHING AT YOU.
Especially since you were the one who WAS reading some of them! All your favourites are either boxed away or next to my bed where I can have access to them for…
@Amanda Wares
*lol* stick naughty people in “THE DEATH BOX”
I would love to see photos of your Buffy/Angel collection though!
The actual space everything takes really isn’t too bad considering how much of it there is. Looks like you have a spot for almost everything. I have to admit to being paranoid about how much space new purchases will take, and I’m noticing the gaps and little bits of free space scattered through your shelves. To me they are storage potential and I envy them.
Very nice selection you have there too. I could spend all day spotting things in there.
Wow. This is truly an amazing collection. I must work harder. How many books do you buy every month?
@MattB
Why do you think I love looking at other peoples’ collections?
@Parka
You are definitely someone I look up to especially for your artbook reviews!
I haven’t bought any at all since losing my job to be honest, and before that it had slowed down to about 1 every few months. At my height, probably 20 a month.
