Life Begins Again

I am very happy to report that yours truly is finally gainfully employed! :)

Its been a rough 7 months since I lost my last job thanks to these recessionary times, and while I am excited about the new role, I am also very very relieved.
No more worrying about how to pay the bills, no more worrying about transport, no more worrying about eating!
I have learned some valuable lessons too, and will never ever find myself in this position again.

Busy few days ahead. Things were verbally agreed on over the weekend, picking up the contract today, and I’ll be starting work tomorrow. Such a fast pace, but thats fine. I’ve been sedentary for so long, a crash course back into the working world is exactly what I need!
Celebratory lunch with some friends today, a quick shop for more corporate style clothes (you know, I am actually looking forward to wearing high heels!)

Don’t worry, this will not affect other aspects of my life like stitching… infact I think it’ll give me more motivation! As odd as this sounds, when I was not working, I actually felt guilty about doing things like stitching, photography, scrapbooking etc. because they were all luxury activities. While I had all the materials on hand already, I just couldn’t get rid of the stigma.
Now the guilt is no longer there.

Another thing that I need to do is thank people. Some of you have been wonderfully supportive these last few months. If it be words of encouragement or mailing me stuff that I couldn’t afford (you know who you are!) or just hanging out with me. Your friendship and support means more to me than you could ever imagine. Thankyou.

So yay!

p.s. this is the first and only work related post I am going to make on this blog. Don’t be expecting any further detail unless you ask me in person!
