Depression and life problems meant that it had been a while since I picked up the needle and stitched. To try get back my stitching mojo, I signed up to a local craft exchange.
After several mis-starts… where I started on a design but it just wasn’t “doing” it for me, I settled on stitching the pink lotus mandala from the larger sampler design by Joan Elliott called ‘Eastern Promise’ (found in her book ‘Cross Stitch Wit & Wisdom.’)

Pink Lotus Mandala
I had originally planned to stitch this up as a needlebook, but of course, as is the case with me, I managed to stuff that up. Also, ignore the beading on the design. I beaded on the hoop, but off the hoop the stitching was loose, lesson learned. In the end I finished this as an ornament with beaded clusters on each corner, and around the cream ribbon. Will be posting this off soon with a few extras, and am hoping the recipient likes!
So pretty! And even more gorgeous in person.
Wow, that looks so pretty! Very well done
Wow! Stunning finish! Vivid colours, tons of shiny bling, excellent finish. What’s not to adore?
But I thought the act of doing crafts was supposed to be soothing, take your mind off things?
