Ever wonder what type of personality you are? You probably know, but are never too sure because you see many conflicting characteristics within yourself.
I recently took the MBTI Personality Test, and was classified as a INFJ. Before the results were presented to us, we went through a series of scenarios to introduce us to MBTI, and were asked to classify ourselves. I initially pegged myself as a ISFJ.
Apparently this is all subjective, and while I see myself as one thing, everyone else sees me as another. I’ll let you be the judge.
If you know me… tell me which one of the two statements below best fits me:
Option 1
Quiet, friendly, responsible and conscientious. Commited and steady in meeting their obligations. Thorough, painstaking, and accurate. Loyal, considerate, notice and remember specifics about people who are important to them, concerned with how others feel. Strive to create an orderly and harmonious environment at work and at home.
Option 2
Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and commited to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organised and decisive in implementing their vision.
Honestly, I think I’m a bit of both. Some people have already pegged me as Option 2, but I just wanted to get a broader opinion.
To me, you’re a bit of both. Reading both of them I was nodding in agreement. That’s not terribly helpful is it?
LOL! Take the time to read the two personality pages then please? Really do need to figure this one out
One of the criticisms of the Myers-Briggs system is that it’s fairly common for people to appear to change type when taking the test again some time later. If I recall correctly the odds are fairly high of this happening. If you’re bordering on two different types then merely answering one question differently may be enough to change the type it comes back with, and that may just come down to how you feel on the day. In that sense you may well fit more than one type in reality.
I don’t think we’re in contact enough for me to accurately pick if you favour the S or N traits, but after reading the personality pages on the two types I definitely see elements of you in both. If you forced me to pick one I think I’d lean towards ISFJ, but from my perspective it’s close.
Oh, and you can trust I was looking at it scientifically. I’ve tested consistently as INTJ for years.
Well you’re proof in da puddin ain’t ya
I am perfectly aware of how subjective this is, and the practitioner even said the results would have been swayed by those environmental factors.
Thankyou!
If your S/N preference was not very strong, then it’s certainly possible to identify with both personality types, depending on the situation.
My T/F preference is very slight, and there’s a lot about the INTJ personality that describes me, too. But overall, most of the time, INFJ fits best. Welcome to the tribe!
As a fellow INFJ I will root for you being that one.
Funnily enough my N preference was very very strong XD
But during the scenario I picked out all the detail, and didn’t even come up with the bigger view thinking!
Apparently our tribe are quite rare, but it seems most of em are online! XD
Judging by the preferences I’m probably an INFJ.
