Question: Does Zeb do anything other than cross stitch exchanges? You’d think I was addicted considering the number of posts I’ve been making about them lately. I promise this will be the… second to last one! The other one is for a private exchange I am doing with two friends for Halloween.
I signed up for a bookmark exchange on the Cross Stitch forum, and while I had a great time choosing and stitching this design, I have to say that this particular exchange left a rather sour taste in my mouth. It’s one of those times where you realise that while you may put a lot of effort into the work you do for someone else, others may not do the same.
Anyway, the design was from the book ‘Hold That Thought Bookmarks‘ by Sandy Orton. A gorgeous little book full of over 30 quirky, colourful bookmark designs. Highly recommend. I decided to customise it by changing the colours, and stitching it on 14 count perforated paper. It was finished on felt that was cut with pinking shears to give it a decorative edge. Love the total look, but thankfully was glad it wasn’t for me. If I had stitched this for myself, I probably would never use it cause it was so nice!

B is for Bibliophile bookmark
Fingers crossed my exchange Monika likes it!
Oh my! I LOVE that. So appropriate for me.
I know what you mean about exchanges not always being equal. I’ve experienced that a couple of times and I am considering not trying any more exchanges for a while.
That reason is why I don’t take part in exchanges except when I know the other person(s). That way I know that all parties will be happy with the exchange.
I have that book. I have made almost every one in it. It is just about the best bookmark book I have every found.
I’m sure your recipient loved your bookmark, it really is a stunner!
Hope you were happy with the exchange you received in return
