Extended Bio:

I’m a 30-something female living in Auckland, New Zealand. My name is Zeb (yes, I know thats a male name but I assure you, I am very much female) I was born in Pakistan, but grew up in Zambia (central Africa,) Ghana (west Africa,) England and finally in New Zealand.
I’ve lived in New Zealand for quite a number of years now, and while I still wish to travel, New Zealand I believe will always be home.

In terms of interests, I’m into anime & manga, crafting, reading, watching movies, photography, hanging out with friends and going on long walks (hows that for cliche!?)

As far as my tastes are concerned, I am very much into science fiction and fantasy. Reading, movies and even my preferred themes to stitch will be fantasy based. Some of my favourite authors are: Anne Bishop, Mercedes Lackey, Laurell K. Hamilton (before she went all weirdy,) Ursula Le Guin, Raymond E Feist, Peter S. Beagle and Cheryl J. Franklin. Favourite movies (only some mind you) The Princess Bride, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, The Last Unicorn, LadyHawke and the Mummy. I also have a weird interest in big scary animal movies ^_^;

What do I hope to gain out of this blog? Freedom to express my creative leanings with others of like mind. Feedback and motivation, and also to be able to build friendships from around the world ^_^

Domain Name Reasoning – I’m a geek, I’m a chick, all the things I talk about are things that bring me pleasure :)

  1. Hey Zeb, funny reading your profile — I’m also an IT/web specialist and a huge fan of Japanese culture (maybe the two are linked?).

I manage a Japanese taiko drumming team named Tamashii (www.tamashii.co.nz) and I actually came across your site because I was hunting for a local Manga artist.

I want to experiment with putting together a few manga pieces of taiko drummers in action, which I can use later for posters and such — however virtually no budget at this point so I’m really looking for someone probably at an amateur level or who wants some fame (we can also put credits on the posters, website, etc.).

We also have an awesome concert coming up, maybe you can make it?

    All the best,

    Hello,
I am from the U.S. and I have the complete “PSE COLLECTION POSTER SUMMER 1999″ which is a hard case tube with two B2 size posters & one strap.
    http://longrangebullet.info/murata/orig-dj.htm

I looked at one of the forums that listed items which relates to Range Murata – from artbooks to figures. You highlighted the items in bold that you do have, but the said item was not. That left me in another dead end of finding people who owns it.

I acquired the items in 2008 at a convention. The guy sold a bunch of posters and this guy displayed the Range Murata posters. I was willing to buy it and to my surprise I did not know it came in a tube. He had two sets of these and we talked for a bit before I bought them. He told me these he acquired at a convention (which after I did some research was Comiket) and were sold to him. He told me that these were pretty cool… and he did not know the artist. I did not think of the rarity at the time. Now, truthfully enough it is hard to get more info about the rarity of the item.

I never seen these items being posted by collectors before or sold by anyone. So, I pretty much do not know the value of which I am holding. I know its hard to find, especially when I only saw the pics at that one website (above). Artbooks, figures, or doujins are stuff that I can find in the net and buy; but this one I cannot put a price on. I can get a ballpark estimate on autographed wallscrolls but not on private labeled posters. What do you value this? I am asking since you seem to be pretty serious in collecting Range Murata’s stuff.

Hopefully this enlightens you a bit that there is someone owning an existing set. Please e-mail me back if possible.

    Thank you.

      Hey Geronimo,
your guess on value is as good as mine on this piece as it was rare even when it was first released. Kudos on you for scoring a set!

Value of such items really depends on how many fans there are still left of a particular artist. During his hey day for example, Masamune Shirow related products sold for ridiculous prices on eBay… now? Not so much for the same items. Range Murata is still popular but something like this is very much a die hard collector’s item. How much would I put it at? Definitely not below US$100.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend also asking on the Zero-Type forum at http://forums.zero-type.com/

      Will also email you.
