So Doujin Overload 2008 has been and gone… and oh my god, can I say BEST EVER DOUJIN OVERLOAD EVA!!!
*cough* sorry, my mind still hasn’t quite calmed down from all the excitement, and after having spent all day today resizing, editing etc. photos from the event, I can finally let my enthusiasm loose to talk about the event!
The experience actually started on the Friday for me. I’d taken the day off from work to hang out with friends and also watch the movie ‘The Dark Knight.’

The anime ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ by Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli) is a favourite for many out there. Even now, years after first watching it, I still love the movie with an almost child like wonder and delight. Wellington Armageddon 08 & a holiday

I love holidays, so much so that when I go on them I selfishly gaurd my time and only use it for the things that I want to do!
So when I booked my flights to Wellington I advised Bill that as far as Wellington Armageddon was concerned, I was happy to judge and run the AMV competition, but thats about it.
The convention itself was average. I am sorry to say but this year it just wasn’t all that great compared to previous years

Auckland Anime Music Video Competition 2007

This year’s Auckland Armageddon 2007 Anime Music Video (AMV) competition saw a total of 28 entries submitted, with some entrants submitting 2 or more AMVs.
Judging took place a week prior to the event (as mentioned on the Armageddon site) and just over 8 hours was taken to properly go over each AMV, and also check for information/confirmation/validity online. There were three judges, each with experience in AMV creation, gaming and anime.
The number of entries pleased us greatly, and for the most part we were impressed with the general quality of the AMVs submitted.
