Cross Stitch

I have long enjoyed cross stitching. Why? It is an easy way to create something pretty, useful and often unique. The feeling of satisfaction once I have the finished piece in my hands is wonderful, and being able to hand make gifts to friends and family, too cool for words.

I am always keen to meet other cross stitchers in New Zealand (especially Auckland) and from around the world. So please feel free to email me!

Cross Stitch Forums I hang out at:

Cross Stitch Forum – a highly active stitching forum.

Crossed Stitchers – a small New Zealand forum of stitchers.

LiveJournal Cross Stitch Community – the first and still my favourite cross stitch community to hang out in and be inspired!

My Favourite Cross Stitch Yuku Boards – a number of cross stitching forums on Yuku that I enjoy.

Local New Zealand Stores I like:

The Embroiderer – my local needlework store here in Auckland, run by a friendly group of people and they have a great selection of cross stitch, embroidery and other needlework items.

Golding Handcrafts – when ever I am in Wellington I visit their two stores. Good selection of cross stitch and craft items.

Ribbon Rose – other side of Auckland so more difficult for me to get to, but a large selection of cross stitch charts and kits.

Online Cross Stitch stores I shop at:

ABC Stitch Therapy – a bit slow on the delivery, but really really great service and a massive catalog.

Laurel’s Stitchery – great selection of cross stitch items, including some hard to find things. Fast shipping.

Sew and So – lots of more British/European designs here; also Dimensions, DMC, Anchor etc. too. Fast shipping!

Stitching Bits n’ Bobs – I’ve spent far too much at this store, but they have excellent sales, and fast shipping too!

Stitches ‘N Things – site isn’t too flash, but who cares, since they have some really hard to find items for sale!

The Silver Needle – a great selection of cross stitch and needlecraft items here, inc. some nice exclusives.

    Hi there
I am a avid needlecrafter. I love all forms of needlecraft. Cros stitch is just one form I really enjoy, although I am moving into making up my own designs.
